‘Sumadhur-2’ Mesmerises Udupi with Stellar Performances, Joshal D’Souza Steals the Spotlight

Udupi: A grand musical evening titled “Sumadhur-2” turned the premises of Mount Rosary Church, Santhekatte, into a vibrant celebration of music, culture, and compassion, drawing an overwhelming crowd of music lovers.

Organized by the Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh, the event stood out not only for its entertainment value but also for its strong charitable mission, making it a meaningful highlight of the festive season.

At the heart of the evening was a power-packed and unforgettable performance by Joshal D’Souza, who emerged as the biggest star of the show. With her commanding stage presence and soulful voice, Joshal captivated the audience from the moment she stepped on stage. Her iconic number “Tu Yetai Munon” was met with thunderous applause, creating one of the most electrifying moments of the night.

Joshal’s performance wasn’t just musical—it was emotional and deeply engaging. She effortlessly connected with the audience, showcasing her versatility through a mix of melodies that highlighted her stature as one of the leading voices in the Konkani music industry. Sharing the stage were talented artists like Robin Sequeira, Jason Lobo, and Ishney Fernandes, who added variety and depth to the musical lineup. Young performer Leona Olivera also impressed the audience with a confident rendition of the classic “Red Rose.”

The event featured a rich mix of entertainment, including comedy skits by Team Memory Mangaluru and energetic dance performances by Urban Groove. The musical arrangements by Sanjay Rodrigues and his band ensured a seamless and high-quality experience throughout the evening.

Beyond entertainment, Sumadhur-2 carried a noble cause. A major highlight was the recognition of fundraising efforts led by Ronald D’Almeida, president of the Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh, who successfully raised ₹1 crore for the development of Goretti Hospital. Notably, Joshal D’Souza was also honoured for her significant contribution, further underlining her impact both on and off the stage.
