The South Kanara Association (SKA) London is set to host Konkani Sambhram 4, one of the most anticipated cultural events among the Konkani-speaking community in the United Kingdom. Scheduled to take place on Sunday, 26 October 2025 at the Harrow Arts Centre in London, the celebration promises a rich blend of music, theatre and community togetherness.

Founded in 1979, SKA London has been a vibrant platform for Konkani-speaking families from the Dakshina Kannada and Udupi regions of Karnataka. Over the years, the association has become a cultural bridge connecting generations of expatriates, preserving traditions, and promoting the Konkani language through its social and cultural initiatives. The Sambhram series has grown into a key highlight of the community’s annual calendar, and the fourth edition is expected to draw an even larger audience.

The highlight of this year’s event is the Wilson Oliver Night, featuring the legendary Konkani music composer and singer Wilson Olivera. With more than eight music albums and over 800 songs to his credit, Olivera has been one of the most influential figures in contemporary Konkani music. Accompanied by the popular UK-based band Rifters and emceed by Dony Correa, the concert will also feature performances by Ashwin D’Costa, Sonal Monteiro, Asha Correa and Joseph Sequeira, among others. The programme is expected to deliver a nostalgic and melodious evening that celebrates decades of Konkani musical excellence.

Another major attraction of Sambhram 4 will be the stage drama Hando Utla, written by Chafra D’Costa and directed by Dony Correa. The play brings together well-known actors such as Godwin Castelino, Rohan Kalakul, Cynthia Mendona and Asha Correa, with background music composed by Rohan Kalakul. The performance promises a thoughtful storyline, lively acting and a touch of the familiar humour and sentiment that have made Konkani theatre beloved among its audiences.

Beyond entertainment, Konkani Sambhram 4 represents the continuing spirit of unity within the Konkani diaspora. For many families, it serves as an opportunity to reconnect with their roots and pass on the cultural heritage to the next generation. The organisers emphasise that such gatherings are not just social occasions but vital expressions of identity, language and shared history in a multicultural setting like London.

The event will be held at the Harrow Arts Centre, located at 171 Uxbridge Road, Hatch End, London HA5 4EA. Tickets are available in premium, standard and economy categories, with complimentary entry for children under twelve. Dinner will also be served after the performances, providing an informal space for guests to mingle and celebrate the flavours of home.

With a combination of star performers, engaging theatre and community warmth, Konkani Sambhram 4 stands as a tribute to the enduring cultural spirit of the South Kanara community abroad. For the Konkani diaspora in the United Kingdom, it promises not just an evening of music and laughter, but a heartfelt reminder of where they come from and how far their culture has travelled.
