Kallianpur: The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM), Kallianpur Deanery, is set to present “Hanv Patki” (ಹಾಂವ್ ಪಾತ್ಕಿ), a Konkani short film created as part of YUVA DABAZO 2026 – Diocesan Youth Convention.
Presented under the Film Rush – A Konkani Short Film Competition, the film takes audiences into a crime thriller set in the 1990s. Built around an investigation, Hanv Patki explores how evidence, questioning and conflicting perspectives can make the search for truth increasingly complicated.
With the tagline “One Crime. Two Sides of Justice,” the film focuses on crime, justice, guilt and morality. As the investigation progresses, the distinction between right and wrong begins to blur, raising questions about the choices people make when there appears to be no simple answer.
The film has been written, directed and edited by Jeston Dias Barkur, with cinematography by Prashanth D'Souza. Roshel and Adroy have served as production managers, while Renson Mascarenhas has contributed lyrics and vocals. Music direction is by Vivan Fernandes, with dubbing by Kenric Crasta. Behind-the-scenes work has been handled by Joy and Jimson, while Swithun Banz has undertaken location scouting.
The film features a large ensemble cast representing several communities and parishes, including Barkur, Brahmavar, Mount Rosary, Milagres, Sasthan, Kemman, Pethri and Kolalgiri. Produced and presented by ICYM Kallianpur Deanery, Hanv Patki forms part of the creative activities surrounding YUVA DABAZO 2026, whose theme is “Called to Love, Sent to Serve.”
Through its crime-thriller narrative and moral questions, Hanv Patki aims to present Konkani youth with a story that goes beyond a conventional investigation, encouraging audiences to reflect on justice, guilt and the difficult choices that can arise when the boundaries between right and wrong become unclear.
