As the first showers of the season approach, Mangaluru is set to celebrate the monsoon in vibrant style at Festha Paus—a one-of-a-kind rain festival that blends tradition, community spirit, and pure joy.
Organized by Fishing Cactus, and powered by Globelink West Star Shipping and RC Mangalore Caterers, the festival will take place on Sunday, June 22, 2025, from 10 AM to 6 PM at the Wave Pool and Castle area of Manasa Waterpark.
Drawing inspiration from Goa’s lively Sanjão festival—famed for its music, flower crowns, and rain-soaked dancing—Festha Paus brings that infectious spirit to Mangaluru. The event also pays homage to local coastal traditions like Patoleche Fest, Ponsache Fest, and Zaviyanche Fest, once joyously celebrated during the monsoon. With a mission to revive these beloved customs, curator Hera Pinto and her team have curated a day of music, food, and cultural pride.
Festival highlights include live Konkani music from SilverTone’s Band, brassy beats from New Star Brass Band (Vamanjoor), and traditional Gumta Pangad performances by Bonam Pidmale. DJ Anil will keep the energy high with a mix of crowd favorites, while the charismatic VJ Dixon will host the event. Complementing the festive vibe will be mouthwatering coastal delicacies, specially curated by RC Mangalore Caterers.
Festival-goers are encouraged to wear dry-fit or rain-friendly attire—or even bring along their brightest raincoats—for a day filled with laughter, dancing, and joyful soaking in the monsoon spirit. Entry is priced at Rs 200 per person, which includes access to the event area and wave pool.
